You may or may not have read the short introduction on the home page, but I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and give you a little explanation as to what to expect from me and this blog.
My name is Melissa and I am a team member here at EcoAmerica Tours.
Growing up I really didn't understand the importance of nature, outdoor activities, and exploring. Hey, I was a city girl living in Houston, Texas. Would you have expected anything more? But as I grew older I began to recognize that getting outside, traveling and investigating my surroundings was key to being a well rounded individual. By the time I was a teen I wanted to go to our family's farm in San Antonio, I wanted to go camping with my girl scout troop, and I wanted to travel and learn more about what was encompassing me in this world.
I discovered some time ago that the countries that make up Central and South America fascinated me to the point that I had to go work for someone who shared the same knowledge and interests. That's how I ended up here at EcoAmerica. The perfect place for me!
I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to share with you the love and passion that I have for the Latin American people, its diversity in climate, their history, food, art, various types of vegetation and living species, the multitude of activities and all the adventures that these beautiful countries have to offer.
It is my goal to take you on a journey... a journey through Central and South America. And while on that journey I will inform and teach you about Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, Belize, Guatemala, Brazil, Chile and Argentina, which are significant to me and especially EcoAmerica Tours as these are the areas that we specialize in.
So join me... hold my hand and walk with me as we make our way into ancient and current times, up and down mountains, and in and out of the sea while gathering bits and pieces for us to take with us forever.
