Common Spanish Words and Phrases

Before traveling to Latin America it is a good idea to become familiar with some of the common Spanish words and phrases as this is their primary language.  While the tour guides and those who are in the main tourist areas know the English language, you never know who you might run into who doesn't.  This will be especially helpful in case you run into an emergency situation!

So let's take a look at what some of those frequently used words and phrases are.

What's this all about?

First and foremost................. WELCOME!

You may or may not have read the short introduction on the home page, but I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and give you a little explanation as to what to expect from me and this blog.

My name is Melissa and I am a team member here at EcoAmerica Tours.

Growing up I really didn't understand the importance of nature, outdoor activities, and exploring. Hey, I was a city girl living in Houston, Texas. Would you have expected anything more? But as I grew older I began to recognize that getting outside, traveling and investigating my surroundings was key to being a well rounded individual. By the time I was a teen I wanted to go to our family's farm in San Antonio, I wanted to go camping with my girl scout troop, and I wanted to travel and learn more about what was encompassing me in this world.

I discovered some time ago that the countries that make up Central and South America fascinated me to the point that I had to go work for someone who shared the same knowledge and interests. That's how I ended up here at EcoAmerica. The perfect place for me!
